All About Me
At Primary School, through a hearing test it was discovered I had a moderate hearing loss in my right ear. Over time my hearing had deteriorated in both ears. I became interested in sign language in 2000 and enrolled in several Auslan and Signed English classes. In 2002 I worked as a volunteer for Ewing House School for the Deaf. In 2006 I commenced full time work with the Ballarat Deaf Facility supporting Deaf Children in the Secondary sector. In 2007 I gained a scholarship to study my Graduate Diploma in Deaf Studies (Language). From there I taught sign language for a company for 10 years and in 2016 started my own business Auslan Ballarat.
